A few days later, Sophie asked Wind how the trip with Muara had gone. He thought his friend's voice sounded a little thin when she asked.
“We didn't make it to the top,” he said.
Sophie waited.
“You know she left in my outrigger without me, don't you? I thought your dad told you all about it.”
“He told me about picking you up. But I didn't feel like asking more. Wait, you're saying she left you stranded? I thought he picked up both of you.”
“Yeah. She also dropped her backpack midway and made me carry it.”
“No way. Who does that?”
Sophie shook her head.
“I'd never do something like that to a friend. Let's go to Butterfly Valley tomorrow and show that princess how it's done.”
