On the morning of the battle of kites, Sophie was finding the wind annoying and unpredictable.

Worse, it flew her best friend Wind’s kite beautifully.

It blew hard for the golden-yellow kite with the very long tail.

But whenever Sophie lifted her own kite, it felt like the wind instantly lulled, and her kite folded impolitely onto her head.

Wind laughed so hard he had to sit down.

“The wind won’t fly my kite,” she said.

“It likes mine,” he said.

“I’ll make it notice mine.”
